photo Lily & Lilac Okay Berlin is awesome. I have a new favourite city. Yesterday I was revelling in its diversity and the sense of freedom that comes with it. It reminded me of Toronto in so much that I felt like I could have walked down the street in a clown suit and no one would have batted an eye. And it has just the right amount of dirtiness. And swans. And I have never seen so many long haired boys with eyeliner. So pretty. Anyway, I am trying to find some sort of excuse to move there in the next couple of years. Can't find anything solid yet. Hmmm?

I had four appointments to meet clients there. The last one was particularly memorable. It was a go-see with a photographer. Anyway, his studio was hidden in a tangled maze of weird German industrial buildings in this weird German industrial compound. I had problems finding the compound itself and then finding the studio within the compound. I had been wandering around for like eleven miuntes or something when I started to fear for my personal safety. Shit. I don't speak German. I am in this weirdass industrial compound and I don't know where the fuck I am. Oh good. (you know.)

Anyway I turn a corner and I hear this deep, sharp bark. WOOF! WOOF! Oh shit. I look and this ornery dog is looking at me. And he is not looking too friendly. Pointed ears. Shit. what are you supposed to do when a dog is about to attack you? Don't make eyecontact? Don't move? Shit. I just want to run away. Shit. I start to turn away. 'Nice doggy'. WOOF!!! WOOF!!! He starts closing in.

Without meaning to I shout so loud! Something non descript like!!! AAGGGGHHHH!!!!! (alto. not soprano.) The dog guns it in the other direction. I must have scared the crap out of him.

I walk a little further and see a shaggy headed figure in the other direction. I shout to him!! "Your fucking dog just tried to eat me!!!!" So loud. He says nothing. He is standing there. I walk a little closer. "Sprechen sie Englishen?" I can't hear anything. I walk closer still.

"Are you here for the go and see?" in perfect English. It's the photographer I'm supposed to meet.

Aw fuck!! I just cussed out the photographer AND his dog. !!!!!!!!!!!!

I like Berlin.
