Top Faces for 2006

Claire Cormeau
When Modelresource flew to Calgary in September, Mode Models founder Kelly Streit told us why he has unending enthusiasm for this industry. "It's a business that changes every season, so you don't have think of getting a new job - your job changes all the time." But as the modelling industry bounces from quirky to cute, and edgy to exotic there is always space for sexy. It's no surprise then that one of Mode's own, Claire Cormeau, was picked by Modelresource readers as most likely to join the ranks of Canada's top international models in the coming year.

The 17-year-old Calgarian, who picked up 19% of the more than 5,300 votes (the poll included ten models), also commanded attention in October with her consistantly solid performance at L'Oréal Fashion Week. With a presence equally commanding in front of the camera as on the ruway it's really easy to forget her career began just ten months ago.

Sarah Ruba

Second in the voting was someone her agent, Next Models' Lorraine Hartnett, describes as "the epitome of an 'it-girl.'" Sarah Ruba is one of the most interesting people to come along in the past year, and is likely to enjoy as much modelling success as she chooses. Unfortunately for the rest of us, we only get to see her modelling exploits when she isn't cutting albums and playing in clubs. Music is her true passion, and the modelling world in just going to have to enjoy her for as long as we have her.

Andi Muise

Another endorsement of the "sexy" model type is Andi Muise's third place finish. The North Bay native was discovered in a Barrie mall by International Model Management's Michèle Miller. A diamond-no-longer-in-the-rough, Muise has been booking major campaigns like the Victoria's Secret fashion show lately, and was behind only Daria Werbowy in page views last month on Modelresource.
