Last Minute Workout!

As a model you want to look and feel your best for a photo shoot or runway walk but you haven't accomplished a single workout over the week and your booker just called to say you have a lingerie casting tomorrow. How do you get maximum results in a single day? Here's a way to boost your mojo and get your body super tight.

As much as cardio may help boost your cardiovascular system or in other terms increase your endurance don't just rely on cardio training. You may find that you're burning calories but only during the time of actual training. If you want some serious results mix up your routine with weight training and circuit training (30 minutes weights followed by 30 minutes of circuits).

By lifting heavy weights you're increasing your metabolism, meaning that the calories (foods, drinks) you put into your body are transferred into useful energy more efficiently. Your muscles repair themselves when you rest (this requires energy) so you are actually burning fat when you're asleep or napping. Make sure you target major muscles groups like your thighs, arms, chest, upper/lower back and your core. Don't be afraid of gaining muscle size - it's not going to happen, unless you are on performance enhancing drugs and lift heavy every single day for the next 15 years of your life, coupled with genetics that roughly 1% of the female population has.

After 30 minutes of heavy weight training go straight to your circuit training routine. This should roughly take 20 to 30 minutes. Instead of giving yourself repetitions, use timed intervals. For example: do 30 seconds of push ups, 15 second rest, 30 second plank holds, etc. Spice up your workout, look for affective workouts on the internet or ask me to set something up for you.

For icing on the cake go for a 30 minute cardio session. It's not necessary, but if you're looking for that extra edge here it is. You did a lot of cardio through circuit training already. Remember you want to look and feel great not just look great. Good luck to you!
