CHOOSING A PHOTOGRAPHER
 Konrad photographing Candice
The first photographer we looked at was excellent, but only had three free days in May. By the time we nailed down our shoot date the schedules didn't mesh.
Another photographer we knew to be available didn't have enough fashion in his portfolio to assure us he could pull off a shoot that could express the mood Areta had in mind for her designs. Just as a model builds a portfolio to show off her/his range, so must a photographer have a body of work that showcases their ability.
THIS IS IMPORTANT: Photographers have different strengths and you NEED to find one that can demonstrate they understand your vision. A good designer puts their heart into their work. Don't compromise the image you're trying to project by being confined to someone else's style - find someone that understands yours.
 Through Konrad's lens
Finally, Modelresource came across Konrad Junikiewicz, a young photographer with a passion for telling stories with his lens. He, like Areta, is young, fun and creative. Also like Areta, he is driven without being obnoxious.
The big selling point was Konrad's insistence in knowing what the designer wanted BEFORE he committed to the project. He wasn't going to put his name to a project he couldn't get his head around.
Once confirmed, Konrad made plans to discuss the shoot with Areta, and to compare concepts to make sure they were on the same page.
THIS IS IMPORTANT: Arrange to meet the photographer before the shoot and go over samples from magazines that fit with general feel you are hoping to create/re-create. Even if you're going a completely different direction, there are always elements of other photos from which you can draw inspiration.
