Spring/Summer 2009Day TWO
Already, this early in the week it has become apparant that Ford's Leah Christ is most likely to be the busiest model on the runways this week.
Modelresource first drew your attention to the LizBell export last season, when Evan & Dean flew the Vancouver model in to open and close their show.

The highlight of Day TWO was David Dixon's show.
Every season the popular Toronto designer presents a gorgeous, cohesive collection, and some of the finest casting in the business.

Nice to see Giovanni's Justyna back at Fashion Week.
Last season the 5'11" model with possibly the most perfect cadence in Canada made it to castings, but then flew off to be Bruce Weber's muse before the shows started.

Making her runway debut on Day TWO was Giovanni's Nel.
The 5'11", 16-year-old was astonishingly comfortable for a rookie. You'll be seeing a lot more from her in seasons to follow.

Although technically in her first season as well, Giovanni's Magalie could hardly be considered a rookie.
Following more than a dozen shows between New York, London and Paris, then several more in her hometown of Montréal last week, the 5'11" brunette made her Toronto debut for David Dixon.

Also nice to see Emily Fox doing some shows this season.
For the last two seasons I was the only one to cast the NAM redhead in L'Oréal Fashion Week (here, for Carlie Wong and here, for Nada Yousif).
Modelresource also identified Fox as a "must-have" for last season, but as is often the case (sadly) it took a few turns on the New York runways before others in Canada took a chance.
Keep watching for Fox... I was right about this girl, just as I was about the others (Jane and Sasha) from that season.

Another to keep your eye on is Sutherland's Sydney, who looks remarkable in her second season.
