Day FIVE

Last season shoes were an issue at Fashion Week for the wrong reason.

On Day FIVE shoes became one of the big stories again, but this time it was Denis Gagnon's collection that caused the stir.

Sixteen models added close to nine inches (five inches of which was platform) of footwear to show off one of the most beautiful and talked-about collections in L'Oréal Fashion Week's history.

The same collection was shown the week before, in Montréal, so not surprisingly many of the same models Giovanni booked there, were re-cast in Toronto.

The show had a lot of hype going in, with Jeanne Beker proclaiming beforehand that this was the show not to miss.

Arched necks were a common sight in the packed tent, as the assembled crowd strained to get a look at the footwear.

I held my breath through a lot of it, terrified someone would take a bad spill. In the end though, all the mdoels made their two rotations plus finale without incident. It was simply stunning.
