World Mastercard Fashion Week

Day FOUR

I love seeing Naro (@ItsMeNaro) walking for David Dixon, because the Push model was opening his collection before most other designers were buying into her unique style.

Rudsak's Fall/Winter lineup opened with the Elmer Olsen model that is also the face of their Spring/Summer campaign.

Tara Gill has been booked in plenty of shows this week, including Pink Tartan, Lundström and Joe Fresh.

Very few people really understand how much of fashion week happens away from the tent.

As the city gets increasingly gets behind the five-day event, more demands get placed on the models' schedules.

Ford's Autumn Kendrick (@AutumnDMonkey), for example, not only takes part in 12 shows this week (many of which had separate fittings and rehearsals; a few of which were offsite), but also had to drag herself out of bed at 4:30 Tuesday morning to be on Breakfast Television.

Sprinkle in last minute castings for designers that waited until after the shows began, and scouts from other markets requesting to meet with the international models and you get a better sense of the craziness that WMCFW creates.

And then there's Wei Guo.

The Sutherland model - who appears in the latest issue of Flare - has worked her way into the casts of Mackage and Roxanne Nikki outside of the official WMCFW calendar, then added Korhani, Chloé comme Parris, Mélissa Nepton, Joe Fresh, Pink Tartan and David Dixon.

Very few models seem to attract friends as easily as Lily Gao, who draws other models to her the way nightclub promoters only dream of.

The Vancouver transplant has a reputation for being low-stress and lots of fun to be around which is why it's not surprising to see the Sutherland model doing so well.

Last night's David Dixon runway followed turns for VAWK and Korhani earlier in the week.
